Tractor PTO Shaft | Agricultural Drive Shaft
The Tractor PTO Shaft transfers engine power from the tractor PTO stub to attached implements including tillers, balers, feed mixers, and mowers. Forged 40Cr steel yokes and cold-drawn 45# carbon tubes ensure long service life under heavy Korean farmland conditions. Series T1 to T10, covering 10 to 150 HP at 540 or 1000 RPM. CE and ISO 9001 certified.
Understanding the Tractor PTO Shaft
Every piece of tractor-driven equipment on a Korean farm depends on one mechanical link most operators rarely think about until it fails: the PTO drive shaft. This rotating steel assembly transfers engine horsepower from the tractor's power take-off stub to whatever implement works behind it, whether that's a rotary tiller digging into Chungcheong clay, a baler compressing autumn rice straw, or a feed mixer blending winter rations for dairy cattle in Jeju-do.
Korea Ever-Power PTO Shaft Co., Ltd manufactures this Tractor PTO Shaft to bridge the gap between overpriced OEM replacements and flimsy aftermarket parts. Our engineering team based the design on two decades of field failure data, reinforcing the components that break first: cross-bearing seals, yoke pin bores, and tube overlap zones.

What Ships in the Box
Each unit arrives as a complete, ready-to-install assembly: tractor-end yoke, implement-end yoke, telescoping inner and outer tubes, two cross-bearing kits, safety shield set with bearing-mounted guards and safety chains, plus a greasing instruction card in Korean and English.

Five Components That Determine Shaft Reliability
A tractor PTO shaft looks like a simple tube with fittings on each end, but its field life depends on five distinct component groups. Knowing them helps you buy the right spec and spot wear early.
Yokes
Two forged 40Cr steel yokes connect to the tractor and implement via splined interfaces. Push-pin, bolt-pin, and quick-release options available. Forging aligns grain along stress paths for fatigue strength that cast yokes can't match.
Cross-Bearing Kits
Two universal joints allow angular misalignment up to 25 degrees. Each kit has four needle-roller cups pre-loaded with EP grease and sealed with multi-lip dust seals. Grease fittings permit field re-lubrication.
Telescoping Tubes
Cold-drawn 45# steel inner and outer tubes slide to accommodate distance changes as the implement moves. Profile options (triangular, lemon, star, spline) transmit torque while allowing axial movement.
Safety Shields
Bearing-mounted plastic guards on both ends spin freely around the rotating shaft, preventing entanglement. Safety chains anchor each guard to the tractor or implement frame.
Torque Limiters (Optional)
Friction clutches, shear-bolt limiters, or ratchet-type overrunning clutches can be factory-integrated. These protect the tractor PTO gearbox and implement from shock overloads.

Sizing Your Tractor PTO Shaft in Four Steps
Spend five minutes on these measurements and you'll get a first-time fit. Ordering the wrong power take-off shaft wastes time and shipping costs.
Step 1 ➤ Count the splines on your tractor's PTO stub and measure the outer diameter. Common Korean-market configurations: 1-3/8" with 6 splines, 1-3/8" with 21 splines, or metric 8-spline 38x32mm for Kubota and Yanmar.
Step 2 ➤ Measure the closed length: with implement lowered flat, measure yoke-face to yoke-face. Then raise to transport height and measure again. The shaft must telescope across that full range.
Step 3 ➤ Check your tractor's rated PTO horsepower. Pick a shaft series at or above that number. Under-sizing is the single most common cause of premature field failure.
Step 4 ➤ Decide on yoke attachment: push pin for quick disconnect, bolt pin for semi-permanent setups, or quick-release collar for operators who swap implements multiple times daily.
Safety Practices That Save Lives
PTO entanglement injuries happen fast. A shaft spinning at 540 RPM pulls a person in before they can react. These rules apply to every agricultural PTO shaft without exception:

- ⚠ Never operate with a missing or damaged PTO safety shield. Replace it before next use.
- ⚠ Keep at least twice your body height away from any spinning driveline.
- ⚠ Wear close-fitting clothing. Loose fabric, long hair, and dangling straps cause fatal entanglements.
- ⚠ If the implement jams: disengage PTO, shut engine, set brake, pocket the key. Only then approach.
- ⚠ Never step over or reach across a spinning shaft, even if it looks slow.
- ⚠ Teach every person on the farm these rules on their first day, especially seasonal workers.

Pairing with Agricultural Gearboxes and Parts
How Shaft and Gearbox Work Together
The Tractor PTO Shaft is the power pipeline. The agricultural gearbox on the implement is the translator, converting speed and redirecting the rotation axis to drive the working mechanism. A rotary cutter gearbox turns 540 RPM horizontal input into vertical blade rotation. The two share a splined interface, so the gearbox input spline must match the shaft implement-end yoke precisely. Specify both ends when ordering and we ship a verified pair.

Common Questions About Tractor PTO Shafts
My tractor has both 540 and 1000 RPM PTO settings. Which shaft do I need?
The shaft itself works at either speed. What changes is the spline: 6-spline stubs typically run at 540 RPM, 21-spline at 1000. Check your implement manual for the required speed and match spline count.
How do I know when cross-bearings need replacement?
Grab the shaft near the joint and try to wiggle it. Any play means worn cups. Also watch for clicking at slow speed, vibration during work, or grease leaking from cracked seals.
Can I shorten the shaft if it's too long?
It requires cutting and re-welding. We recommend ordering a custom length instead since the factory weld is stronger and cleaner than a field modification.
What grease should I use?
NLGI #2 EP lithium-based grease. Pump each cross-bearing fitting every 8 hours until fresh grease appears at all four seals. Clean and re-grease tube overlap every 50 hours.
Does this fit Kubota, Yanmar, or Iseki tractors?
Yes. Metric spline yokes for all three brands are in stock alongside inch-series. Give us your model number to confirm the match.
Do you ship outside South Korea?
Yes. Regular exports to Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Philippines. CE and ISO certificates included for customs clearance.
What Buyers Are Saying
Song Ji-hye, Rice Farmer, Jeollanam-do (early 2025)
"Running a 65 HP Kukje tractor on 12 hectares. The T6 series replaced an overpriced import that lasted two seasons. This one is going strong at 14 months with regular greasing. Push-pin yoke makes disconnecting fast."
Yoon Tae-sik, Machinery Repair Shop, Incheon (mid 2024)
"Installed about forty of these for customers over the past year. Dimensional accuracy is consistent unit to unit, saving me fitting time. Forged yokes are noticeably better quality than the cheapest aftermarket alternatives."
Jung Min-a, Greenhouse Grower, Gyeonggi-do (late 2024)
"Small operation, 25 HP tractor, needed a T3 for my bed former. Arrived in five days with Korean instructions. Easy install, no vibration. Exactly what I needed without paying for features I don't use."
Bae Kyung-ho, Livestock Feed Company, Chungcheongbuk-do (spring 2025)
"We run TMR mixers twice daily, 365 days. T8 series with friction clutch has handled 10 months. The clutch saved our mixer gearbox twice when frozen feed jammed the augers. That alone justified the cost."
Shin Eun-ji, Contract Hay Producer, Gangwon-do (fall 2024)
"Baling 8,000 rolls per season across three tractors. We standardized on Ever-Power two years ago for cost reasons and haven't looked back. Delivery reliable, parts available, warranty honored without a fight."
Han Woo-jin, Equipment Dealer, Daejeon (early 2024)
"My shop carries three PTO shaft brands. Ever-Power moves fastest because pricing is right and return rate is under 1%. Safety shields are better built than what some competitors include."
